Thailand Community Consultation in preparation of RAI3E Funding Request in Bangkok, Thailand on 20 January 2020

Thailand Community Consultation in preparation of RAI3 Funding Request was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 20 January 2020 with leadership from Raks Thai Foundation together with World Vision Thailand, Young Muslim Association of Thailand and Thailand CSO partners. A total of 57 participants including Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCM), Thailand malaria CSO representative to CCM, Thailand RAI CSO partners, The Global Fund representative, RAI RSC secretariat, Regional and Thailand consultants for RAI3 Funding request, UNOPS PR, United States Agency for International Development representative, RAI RSC CSO representative, CSO platform secretariat, village malaria post, and village malaria workers at the community level which represent West, Northeast, South and Deep South of Thailand joined and discussed in the community consultation. The main objectives of the consultation include:

  1. To collect suggestions from community representatives and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for the Global Fund RAI 3 Funding request 2021-2023 based on the recommendations from previous consultations
  2. To agree on priorities to be presented at the Country malaria Dialogue on 21st January 2020 and participants to represent communities and civil society organizations

During the consultation, the CSO partners and community representatives from West, Northeast, South and Deep South of Thailand discussed the population and area coverage based on gaps and experience, CSO interventions and Community System Strengthening with the guidance of global fund, regional and country consultants, RAI RSC CSO representative, and UNOPS PR. The outcome of the community consultation will be shared in the Thailand malaria dialogue on 21 January 2020.
